The stars in the Star City still shine

Both PilotOnline and Roanoke.com were finalists for "best overall news site" in the Digital Edge Awards competition of the Newspaper Association of America’s New Media Federation in the category for sites with circulations of 75,000 to 250,000. The winners were announced in Las Vegas this week.

The award went this week to Roanoke.com.

The other winners: Naplesnews.com in Naples, Fla., in the below 75,000 category and washingtonpost.com in the over 250,000 category.

Last year, Roanoke.com won an Eppy Award for Best Overall Newspaper-Affiliated Internet Service among Web sites with more than 1 million unique monthly visitors in the competition sponsored by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek magazines.
