Checkbook journalism

CyberJournalist.net reported on the annual survey from The University of Georgia's James M. Cox Jr. Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research showing salaries of recent graduates who enter media jobs.

Here are the median salaries they found:


  • Online publishing -- $32,000
  • Cable television -- $30,000
  • Consumer magazines -- $27,000.
  • Daily newspapers -- $26,000
  • Weekly newspapers -- $24,000
  • Broadcast television -- $23,492
  • Radio -- $23,000

You get what you pay for, they say.
