Chef Nigel Jenkins, formerly of the Royal Navy and chef to British royalty, was the subject of a delightful "Flavor" section profile Dec. 29 by Krys Stefansky. Editor Melinda Forbes asked Chef Nigel if he would be willing to answer questions about his craft from our readers. Indeed, he would!

The result is a well received online guestbook in which Chef Nigel tells us how properly to season a brisket, bake a toffee pudding and gives advice to a 13-year-old girl on how to become a famous chef in her on right.
