The real Deal

Jason Skog told the story of a New Jersey man named Bill Deal who had ursurped the reputation of Portsmouth beach music icon Bill Deal and was performing the late Deal's hits before unwitting fans. Great story, but it made you wonder: Does he sound like the real thing?

Jason was able to answer that question by finding a audio clip of the New Jersey Deal singing the Portsmouth Deal's hit "May I." It was posted online with the story and a second audio clip of the Portsmouth Deal's recording of the same song.

Readers can decide for themselves after listening to both audio clips whether they might have been fooled too.
